THE PALM BEACH COUNTY TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL An advisory group appointed by the PBC Board of County Commissioners, the Council uses hotel room taxes collected in PBC to increase visitation through a variety of marketing efforts. The Council is also a major funding agency for the arts in PBC, under the premise that a mature arts community will appeal to high-income visitors. Council funds also finance the PBC Convention Center and Roger Dean Baseball Stadium in Palm Beach Gardens. Both of these are major generators of visitors, and maintain the County's competitive edge against other Florida counties. The Council also funds the County's Beach Renourishment efforts for the enjoyment of visitors and residents. The Council manages the contracts of four major agencies: the PBC Convention and Visitors Bureau, the PBC Sports Commission, the PBC Film and Television Commission, and the PBC Cultural Council.
