Boca Raton Museum of Art

The Boca Raton Museum of Art was founded in 1950 as the Art Guild of Boca Raton, and has evolved into one of the leading cultural institutions in South Florida. Celebrating its fifth year in its 44,000 square foot home in Mizner Park, the Museum has achieved international recognition as a world-class visual arts institution, presenting dynamic traveling exhibitions from acclaimed and emerging artists, and an outstanding permanent collection. Some of the Museum’s programs includes the Art Films Series, artist lectures, family programs, Music at the Museum, the International Film Series, and more than 85 classes a week at its studio Art School.
 
The Boca Raton Museum of Art will be presenting Degas in Bronze: The Complete Sculptures, January 25th- April 27th, 2008.  Degas in Bronze offers a rare opportunity to view 73 sculptures cast in bronze from Degas' original composite and wax models.  Organized by Joseph s. Czestochowski, International Arts.  From the collection of MASP, Meseu de Arte de Sao Paulo, Assis Chateaubriand, Sao Paulo, Brasil.  The Boca Raton Museum of Art's presentation of Degas in Bronze is supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and Humanities with additional funding from the estate of Simone Stakolt Tolksdorf.  Also being presented at this time will be Tiffany Studios: The Holtzman Collection. Tiffany Studios: The Holtzman Collection has been curated by Alastair Duncan, the world's foremost authority on Tiffany glass and author of numerous books on the decorative arts of the 19th and 20th centuries.  A fully-illustrated exhibition catalogue authored by Mr. Duncan, will be published by the Museum, and will present the entire Holtzman Collection in print for the first time.  For more information about the Museum and these fabulous exhibits, visit  www.bocamuseum.org
 

Boca Raton Historical Society

The Boca Raton Historical Society (BRHS) is a non-profit membership organization, founded in 1972. Since its inception, the BRHS has taken on ambitious restoration projects, provided first-rate cultural programming, and followed its mission: to collect, preserve, and present information and artifacts relevant to the past and evolving history of Boca Raton, and to maintain a visible role in education and advocacy of historic preservation in our community. BRHS presents an annual food and wine event, Boca Bacchanal, with vintner dinners at private homes, a wine auction and a grand tasting. www.bocahistory.org

 

Palm Beach International Film Festival

Founded in 1996, the Palm Beach International Film Festival emerged as a major cultural venue for the community as well as a productive fundraiser for film and TV education.
